Saving the Lives of our Pets—The Palm Springs Animal Shelter

VIDEO

The new Palm Springs Animal Shelter adjacent to Demuth Park is finally a reality at 4575 E. Mesquite Avenue—and City of Palm Springs invited the entire community to the grand opening celebration for this spectacular new animal care facility on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011.

Before the big day, Nicholas Snow took his cameras into the state-of-the-art facility for this SnowbizNow Extra!

The new 19,000 square-foot shelter is the result of more than five years of effort by the City Council and Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, which raised more than $800,000 toward the cost of this much needed new animal care facility, which replaces the outdated and antiquated shelter on Camino Parocela.

“The new shelter will change the lives of our animals in Palm Springs and is a shining example of best practices in animal care,” according to City Councilmember Ginny Foat, who sits on the City’s shelter subcommittee and is a founding member of Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

In the heartwarming video, Stephen Boyd, Vice-President of the Board of the Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, introduces Nicholas to beautiful, loving animals awaiting homes.
