Robin Montgomery is Angel of the Year in Greater Palm Springs

Robin Montgomery, one of the best liked and most egalitarian women in greater Palm Springs society, was named Angel of the Year recently. Honoring her was the outstanding Angel View Crippled Children’s Foundation, which has 19 residential homes for the handicapped in the area. Robin (at right) is pictured here with philanthropist Jackie Lee Houston.

Robin is a leader in community service from here to Los Angeles, in organizations listed from Agua Caliente Cultural Museum to Women in Film & Television. In one of the many activities, she is executive director of Pegasus Riding Academy of the Handicapped. This unique group will stage its traditional Easter Brunch (April 4, 2010 at Desert Willow) that highlights the spring season. Robin and Janet Newcomb co-chair the event.

When she accepted the Angel View award Robin’s thank yous were special, because she mentioned specific things to praise her supporters. They included an unnamed diet partner. (Her son, Adam Devejian, had disclosed that Robin has lost 30 pounds in recent months.)

BTW, the Angel View resale stores, which fund the good works, are consistently voted best in the Coachella Valley. The Angel View Prestige Boutique, 462 North Indian drive in Palm Springs, is the fashionista favorite. This boutique was particularly busy during Modernism Week 2010, when thrifty fans from near and far flocked in. One customer clutched a Lucky magazine clipping that touted the shop.

At the awards luncheon, attendees were able to do a little shopping on the scene. Of the many booths of goodies, Jackie Lee Houston’s stand popped out. A generous lady, she again had decided to share the wealth.
